I'm squeezing in one last post for 2014. I'm a little hungover from all the cartoon, red and green christmas nails we have been seeing for the past month. As much as I LOVE them, I'm glad it's time to move on to something else!
New Year's Eve is the perfect time to break out all the sparkly, glittery goodness and go all out. Before I sat down to do my NYE nails, I told myself I would NOT do black and gold. It seems like everyone does black and gold! Yet somehow, I gravitated towards those two colors anyways.

For NYE, I knew I wanted to create something simple and easy, but with a wow factor. I have really gravitated towards textures this year so I decided to end the year with another textured gradient.
Polishes used: Nails Inc Sloane Square, Zoya Tomoko
Tools used: tiny piece of sponge + tweezers
How I created this look: First I painted a base of Nails Inc Sloane Square. While this polish is not technically a texture, it has a similar feel and look so I thought I could get away without adding topcoat. I love the micro glitter with the larger holographic hexes. After I painted the base, I sponged on Zoya Tomoko at the base of my nail. I kept applying Tomoko until I was satisfied with the coverage. It did take several times to get the opaqueness at the base. Of course, this created a mess all over my cuticles, so I used a small brush dipped in acetone to clean everything up.
I'm really happy with how this look turned out!
For the past few years, we have gone out to dinner at a restaurant on Hilton Head owned by one of my husband's members. We always go with a few of his coworkers and then usually go somewhere afterwards for drinks and to watch the ball drop. It's nothing over the top, but it's definitely a fun way to ring in the new year!
I hope everyone has a fun and safe night! I'll see you next year!
Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!
